Summer Showdown Mini Challenges Revealed
Throughout Austin Simply Fit’s 10-Week Summer Showdown, participants will have an opportunity to compete in 5 mini challenges for a chance to win Austin Simply Fit swag, gift cards to Wheatsville Food Co-Op and bragging rights!
Here are the five challenges:
Week 2: During the first two weeks Austin Simply Fit will keep a visible record at the gym of the total number of sand bell slams each participant can do in 30 seconds. Women will have to use a 15lb sand bell and men will have to use a 25lb sand bell. Each athlete will have 3 attempts to break their’s or someone else’s record over the course of the first 2 weeks.
Week 4: During weeks three and four Austin Simply Fit will keep a visible record at the gym of the total number of seconds each participant can hold a banded wall sit. Each athlete will have 3 attempts to break their’s or someone else’s record over the course of the second 2 weeks.
Week 6: During weeks five and six Austin Simply Fit will keep a visible record at the gym of the total number of seconds each participant can hold a plank. Each athlete will have 3 attempts to break their’s or someone else’s record over the course of the third 2 weeks.
Week 8:During weeks seven and eight Austin Simply Fit will keep a visible record at the gym of the total number of roll overs each person can do in 1 minute. Each athlete will have 3 attempts to break their’s or someone else’s record over the course of the third 2 weeks.
Week 10: We will end the entire challenge with a finisher’s brunch where participants will be able to compete in the “healthy snack cook-off.” Austin Simply Fit trainers will be tasked with judging. Rough job! We will also recognize the athlete who has lost the most inches during the finisher’s brunch as well as most improved and other accomplishments!
