Community COVID-19 Update | April 2020
It’s hard for us to deny how difficult the last month has been. Since March 19, when Governor Abbott gave the shutdown order, so much about our work has changed.
The two biggest changes for us have been to first temporarily shut down both ASF locations, and then to help our personal trainers shift to accommodating clients with virtual training. It’s been an experience, and like most people, we’ve been doing our best to not be left spinning at the end of each day. (It’s OK if you are, though. We get it.)
With all of this happening and how the ASF team has needed to adapt, we can only imagine what this must feel like for you. Please know we are thinking of you everyday and sending our love for your health and safety.
I’m writing this note to let you know what’s good with ASF right now and the actions we are taking to remain a safe and active business. Please read below.
First, with our doors closed, all ASF personal trainers are working with clients on a case-by-case basis to establish routines to continue training and to provide an opportunity to disconnect from the COVID-19 excitement. Are you doing online training right now? How do you like it? If you’re not currently taking advantage of online training and want to direct your extra time and energy toward your health and fitness, please reach out to John De La Paz (john@austinsimplyfit.com) and he’ll get you all set up! Check out our virtual training in this Facebook photo album.
Second, we have taken the steps necessary to preserve our business and keep our community going. In addition to offering virtual training, we have also applied for all of the small business relief programs that we are eligible for. We’re waiting to hear back and are hopeful that we’ll receive the funds and drive more energy into the community, and into the economy.
And third, but most importantly, is our feeling of pride for the Austin Simply Fit community. No matter what your situation is, know that we are incredibly grateful for you and proud to know that you have made the best decision for yourself and your family right now.
Keep doing what you’re doing; being awesome and focused on stepping into a new normal where we are stronger, smarter, and more compassionate for each other!
Some community members have asked how they can help and we want to share that information with everyone. Here are a few opporunities to support Austin Simply Fit during this time:
- Gift Cards: We’ve created a “ANTI-COVID” gift card for purchase online. Purchase as many as you’d like and we’ll apply the funds as credits toward future ASF training packages when we reopen our doors.
- Leave us a review: Please share your experience on our Google review.
Select your studio: Central Austin/Burnet Rd | South Austin/ South Lamar - Community Programs: Our friends as Main Avenue Printing have created the #STRONGERTOGETHER campaign where you can purchase a shirt for your favorite business where that business gets a $10 kickback.
- ASF Store: We are selling ASF gear through our Spreadshirt Store. Place an order online and let us know if you have any issues with production and shipping.
If there is anything ASF can do to serve you at this time, or in the future, please do not hesitate to reach out.
All our love,
Austin Simply Fit
