Community COVID-19 Update | May 2020

Earlier this week, Governor Abbott announced his plan and recommendations for reopening Texas businesses, which applies to us here in Austin. In Phase I of reopening, the State’s stay-at-home order will be eased beginning May 1, 2020, with the limited opening of restaurants and retail business, but not yet gyms. You can read Governor Abbott’s entire plan here

In Phase II of the plan, which is tentatively set to begin in mid-May, gyms may be permitted to reopen. We want nothing more than to be back in the gym with you all, but we are committed first and foremost to the health of our community. We will continue to monitor the data and recommendations of health and government officials to determine when we can safely reopen.

When we are given the green light to reopen, Austin Simply Fit facilities will be up-to-date across all state requirements and mandates with regard to appropriate distancing and hygiene practices. In addition, we are establishing our own guidelines to support the health and safety of the ASF community. These requirements and protocols will be shared with every current ASF client before our opening. Clients should expect to hear from us via email and to receive a text from their personal trainer when these guidelines are available. We will also post the guidelines in the studio, on our website, and across our social media channels.

In the meantime, we are staying strong via virtual training. If you haven’t yet given it a try, reach out to any of our trainers! Even without a lot of equipment, our skilled and creative trainers will help you jumpstart your fitness so you’re ahead of the game when we finally do reopen.

Austin Simply Fit studios will reopen, and we will get together as a community this year (it’s our 10th anniversary afterall!). Thank you for your patience as we navigate this crisis and make the best decisions to keep each other safe. Can’t wait to see your healthy and smiling faces again.
