Athlete of the Month

CLIENT HIGHLIGHTS | JANUARY 2022

The first two featured athletes of the new year are Mike Hale and Court Jacinic! These athletes are consistent and enthusiastic, and their personal trainers could not ask for anything more. Mike and Court know that even when it’s hard, working with a purpose is always rewarding. And even through physical and health challenges, training can be a form of self-care. Congratulations and keep up the good work!

ASF CENTRAL: COURT JACINIC

Court has had trials and tribulations when it comes to the last year and a half. We continued training through Covid lockdown, and when she got into a car accident she took the proper amount of time away from training before returning, and by the look of it feels good and is moving well. We have been working together to get her back to her previous strength and I have been happy with her progress. She loves to push herself through her whole session and I love facilitating that growth for her.

Here’s what Court had to say about her training:

What do you enjoy most about training with your trainer/at ASF? Brendan has trained me back from a spine injury. He’s trained me back from major surgery. He’s helped me relearn my body as it has changed and healed. No matter where I’m at, he meets me there and makes me better. And he is THE BEST hype man you could possibly find.

What have you been most proud of since you started training? The consistency. Since falling in love with strength training and powerlifting, I have remained consistent, 3-5 days a week for 8 years. I’ve learned the days that I don’t want to go are the most rewarding. I’ve learned failed lifts made my body work harder so I should take them as a success. I’ve learned there’s a mindfulness and a zen to lifting that is unparalleled and so necessary for my mental health.

What are you looking forward to? A 200 lb bench. It’s been my goal for a long time. I’ve gotten close with Brendan, been knocked down from it a few times by life, but I know we’ll get there. It’ll be sweet. And then I’ll have a new goal to dream about.

ASF SOUTH: MIKE HALE

From Mike’s trainer, David Polisky:

My client’s name is Mike Hale. He and I have been training together for almost two years, and he has attended almost 100% of his sessions. Mike’s work ethic is exemplary and his level of enthusiasm really makes training him fun. He always gives his all, and I love his dedication to his goals! He continues to get stronger and leaner, and I look forward to helping him achieve every one of them and then setting new ones. Mike’s a very diligent person, and even in the days that he doesn’t come into the gym to train with me, he’s on his Peloton bike, helping him to reach his goals as quickly as can be done.
