Athlete of the Month

CLIENT HIGHLIGHTS | JANUARY 2023

Determination is the key word that applies to both of our January Featured Athletes. Bailey and Corry show up for themselves every time they step in the gym, and their consistency and determination to improve has led to serious growth in their strength and fitness.

We love seeing our clients thriving, and we know Corry and Bailey will be taking 2023 by storm!

ASF South: Bailey Van Cleave

From Bailey’s trainer, Nicky Trbovich:

Bailey is one of the most determined individuals I have ever met. Not only does she work hard to accomplish her goals, she sets out to exceed expectations in the process. She has become so strong over the past year and continues to push past what she thought she was capable of. While Bailey was getting stronger in the gym, she was also graduating and breaking into her career field by becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. She is a strong advocate for mental health and has dedicated her life to helping those who are struggling with such issues. It is because of these achievements Bailey is January’s Athlete of the Month.

Here’s Bailey’s perspective on training with Nicky:

What do you enjoy most about training with your trainer/at ASF? Nicky and the whole crew at ASF have been awesome. Nicky has continued to be patient, kind, and encouraging (with a solid dash of humor!) throughout my entire fitness journey. I was very nervous and self conscious when I first decided to sign up for 1:1 training, and those nerves quickly went away once I noticed and felt how welcoming, inclusive, and motivating everyone at ASF is… especially my guy, Nicky!

What have you been most proud of since you started training? I’ve honestly been proud of how physically and mentally strong I’ve become. If you had told me when I first started that I’d be successfully completing the workouts I am now, I’m not sure I would’ve believed you! I’m also proud to say that I actually know what I’m doing when I go to the gym on my own.

What are you looking forward to? I’m looking forward to continuing to get stronger physically and mentally. I think these workouts have opened my eyes to not only the physical benefits, but also the benefits it has on one’s mental health.

ASF Central: Corry Scheuerman

From Corry’s trainer, Krista Bergeron:

I have chosen Corry for her determination, consistency and increased performance in the gym despite the setbacks she has had. (Also her self-deprecating sense of humor!)

Corry was a collegiate swimmer. Just that fact tells you she is driven and athletic, but she has had to deal with nagging injuries that can be mentally and physically taxing. Those of us that have had an active past oftentimes unfairly judge our performance, appearance, and PRs against what we may have done at 20 years old. Since starting to train, Corry has had significant strength gains, and at the same time has worked through injuries and progressed anyway. She has been an inspiration to me, in staying consistent and doing what she can do any given training session to improve her overall health and continuing to improve regardless of all the fun things getting older throws at us, we keep pushing!
