SPORTS PERFORMANCE HIGHLIGHT: Isa Torres

Isa Torres
Senior at Georgetown High School
Softball
Hotshots Nelson (18u)

Georgetown softball player Isa Torres is having a great senior year. At ASF, she is learning a lot about training and nutrition, and she’s getting stronger and performing better. And with her inherent work ethic, she will have success next year at FSU!

Coach Sierra Nevels had a lot of great things to say about Isa:

I’m choosing Isa because she’s a BEAST! She’s an all around hard worker on and off the field. I started training her older sister, who also plays collegiate softball, about four years ago. Once Isa was ready for it and mature, her parents sent her along my way!

It’s a pleasure to coach her, she’s like a coach’s dream player. You never have to tell her to work hard – she has that inner drive within! You never have to coach effort and intensity with her – she brings it. She’s a dawg! She has that mentality, and along with that she’s very coachable and takes criticism for what it is. She just wants to be better, to be the best. Her work ethic and her attitude shows. She’s an even better human being. Love that lil Torres. Her and her sister are the best.

I’m looking forward to continue working with Isa and excited for this season and her future seasons at FSU!

Here’s what Isa had to say about training with Coach Sierra:

In what ways has your athletic performance or physique improved? My athletic performance has improved in a tremendous way. I’ve become stronger and my body has become more agile. You can tell by the results of my body scans that my body is getting stronger each session I have with Sierra, which is giving me the results I want in my performance.

What keeps you motivated to keep training with Sierra? What keeps me motivated is the results I am getting. I have become stronger and more knowledgeable about my body and the nutrients I have to put into it to be able to perform at the highest level in my sport.

What have you learned about lifting and nutrition to improve health and performance? Training with Sierra has taught me a lot about lifting, but not just lifting to get stronger. We lift to get stronger in the specific areas I need for my sport because each sport is a different build, and Sierra understands that. Sierra has also taught me the importance of nutrition. Nutrition is huge with Sierra because she says everything we put into our bodies can either harm us or help us when it comes to gaining muscle. Eating right is just as important as training because it’s half the battle when building muscle; that way I can maximize my performance.

What are your plans for the future? My plans for the future is to attend Florida State University, and play collegiate softball for the next 4 years.
