When and why did you come to Austin?
I came to Austin in 2006 because of the fitness atmosphere.

What is your background? How did you get into personal training?
I grew up playing sports, and during off seasons I would end up training my fellow teammates. That’s how I fell in love with training.

Tell us about your current fitness goals and training.
I would like to work on getting stronger and be able to deadlift 625lbs.

What is the most common fitness myth you work through with your clients?
Machines are the safest way to build muscles because you’re doing it right every time. If someone just hits the leg press because they want to tone up the legs and build strength, that’s great, however they could have weak ankles and/or knees. It’s important to ensure the ankle and knee area has the support and strength it needs in order to build the muscle effectively on the machine.

What do you want your clients to take away from each training session with you?
I want them to feel confident and to know that they put the work in to reach their goals.

What sets you apart from other fitness professionals?
What sets me apart from other fitness professionals is that I look at every session like an extraordinary journey that we both are going to take, and no matter what happens, we make it to the end together.

Favorite quote and who said it?
“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right!” – Henry Ford

If you had a super power what would it be?
If I had a superpower it would be to multiply myself so I can be there for everyone.

I've had a great experience with personal training at Austin Simply Fit. I've learned a lot in my training sessions with them, and have very much enjoyed working with Nick Deluz. If you're like me, and you've been on the fence about doing personal training for the first time, I recommend going ahead and giving it a try. They're totally friendly here, the trainers are very knowledgeable, and the facility is very well equipped.
